Nicholas Charles Proffitt

(1943-2006) Novelist, war correspondent. Nicholas Proffitt was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan in 1943. He was a West Point cadet, but dropped out after one semester. He was a war correspondent and bureau chief for Newsweek, and wrote three novels. He died in Naples, Florida in 2006.

Westbrook Pegler

(1894-1969) Journalist, writer. Westbrook Pegler was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and died in 1969 and is interred in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.

Donald A Petersen

(1928-2005) Poet. Donald A. Petersen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1928 and died in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2005. He taught at the State University of New York College at Oneonta, New York for 38 years, retiring as professor of English in 1993.
