Contact: Ellen Rocco / ORGANIZATION PROFILE – NCPR provides public radio service to one-quarter of New York State through a network of 32 transmitters, connecting communities from Glens Falls to Plattsburgh and from the shores of Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence Valley and Tug Hill region. The station also reaches into southeastern Ontario and northwestern Vermont, include the greater Burlington area. NCPR is a charter member of National Public Radio and of Public Radio International, broadcasting a variety of cultural, news and information programs from sources around the country and the world. For 30 years, the station has maintained one of the strongest news and production departments in the public radio system. READERS AND WRITERS ON THE AIR provides an opportunity for the station’s listeners to interact directly with authors who join the host, Ellen Rocco, for this monthly call-in. Books from the series are available at a discount to NCPR listeners at a number of bookstores throughout the region.
