Contact: Richard Burns. Organization Profile: The Lesbian And Gay Community services Center is New York City’s largest gay-identified community organization, serving 5,000 people each week. In addition to the many mental health counseling and public policy programs, the Center is proud home to an extensive array of cultural programs that enable us to define and expand the meaning of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender life. The Pat Parker/Vito Russo Center Library is New York City’s largest lesbian and gay lending library, maintaining more than ten thousand titles of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender fiction, and nonfiction titles. The Center’s In Our Own Write program stages monthly readings by emerging lesbian and gay poets, fiction writers, and essayists.
