Crandall Public Library
General Information
Description
Crandall Public Library holds an Archives & Special Collections that documents the history and culture of the upper Hudson Valley and southern Adirondacks of upstate New York. Writers’ Appearances – Crandall Public Library presents a very successful writer’s Appearances program initiated in 1992 with NYSCA funds with published authors reading from their work. The Library has a long tradition of author readings and has collaborated with the local community college and Lake George Arts Project as well as sponsoring authors and writing symposium. The presence of writers representing all genres in a rural community is an incredible opportunity for our community to meet, listen to literary work, ask questions and meet other members of our community with similar interests. Representative authors hosted: Janet Finch, Barbara Chepatis, Craig Gilborn, Archer Mayor, Steve Sternn, Eric Lane, Allan Ballard, Terese Svoboda, Sue Halpern, J. Robert Lennon, Kate White and Ted Conover.
