Arch Merrill

(1894-1974) Journalist, author, poet. Arch Merrill was born in Sandusky, New York, and died in Rochester, New York. He wrote many articles on history and folklore of the Genesee Valley and the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. He was sometimes called the Poet Laureate of Upstate New York.

Hilary Thomas Masters

(1928-2015) Novelist. Hilary Masters was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and died in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a child, he lived with his parents at the Chelsea Hotel in Manhattan, New York. He was the son of the poet Edgar Lee Masters.

John Maxtone-Graham

(1929-2015) Historian. John Maxtone-Graham was born in Orange, New Jersey, and died in Manhattan, New York. He was an authority on ocean liners.

Don Mankiewicz
