Description
This writing retreat includes a private room, all workshops and all meals. Life writing, memoir, and creative nonfiction are genres that interest thousands of people, and each person’s story is unique and each writing approach is different. This retreat offers a combination of daily workshops, discussions, brief writing assignments and a quiet space to focus on your work free of distraction. Whether you are a new, emerging, or experienced writer, and whether your writing is for personal journals or publication, all writers are welcome.
Each morning, you’ll participate in a writing workshop with prompts for motivation, and discussions of technical and creative issues. There will be discussion of writing topics, different approaches to writing memoir, understanding how the publishing world works, and the process for submitting work.
Afternoons are free to read, relax by the pool, write, and explore the idyllic surroundings. Weather permitting, in the evenings we can watch the sunset over the Hudson while sharing writing in progress.
By gathering in a supportive community, we make breakthroughs in our daily life and in our writing.
