General Information
Description
In this poetry craft class, we’ll fire through a series of short prompts by incredible, eclectic poets and then create a patchwork poem stringing the prompts together. The result can be a surprising mosaic of voice, moods, and images that reflects the richness of spontaneous and inspired creation. Along the way, we’ll embrace imperfection, lean into instinct, and discover how several slices of various blueprints can spark unexpected creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just beginning to explore the written word, this session offers a playful, low-pressure space to unlock your voice, get to know some poets, and engage with language in fresh, dynamic spurts.
This hybrid in-person/remote workshop will take place at Poets House in the Kunitz Conference Room on the second floor with a Zoom option available. Elevator access is available, and the Zoom link will be emailed to all participants by a staff member in the week leading up to the class start date.
In agreement with the instructor, this class will be recorded for internal use only. Recordings will be made available to registered students for a limited time after the class session.
