City: Lewiston

James Fenimore Cooper is reputed to have written his novel “The Spy” at Hustler’s Tavern in Lewiston, New York, and to have based several characters of that novel on the tavern’s proprietors.

Charles Dickens was a famous visitor to the Frontier House in Lewiston, New York. James Fenimore Cooper and Mark Twain also stayed here.
