(1897-1997)
Novelist, journalist. He attended Tufts and Columbia, studying journalism before shipping out to the front of WWI with E.E. CUMMINGS. Brown and Cummings were imprisoned together in a French prison for writing anti-war letters back to the United States. This experience was recounted in Cummings’ novel “The Enormous Room.”
