(1819-1885) Susan Warner was born in Manhattan, New York and died in Highland Falls, Orange County, New York. For a number of years she resided on Constitution Island in the Hudson River, opposite West Point.

Susan Warner and her sister, Anna Warner, spent many summers at the Jason Warner House near Queechy, New York. A NYS Museum Historic Marker is located there to remember the fact that many scenes from Susan Warner's novels, "Wide Wide World" and "Queechy," were at this location.
