(1908-1960) Writer, novelist. Richard Wright lived at 175 Carlton Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, in the 1930s and early 1940s. He also lived at 467 Waverly Place, 82 Washington Place, and 13 Charles Street, all in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York. In 2009 the United States Postal Service issued its twenty-fifth stamp in the Literary Arts series in honor of Richard Wright.
