(1915-1981) Novelist. Nathaniel Benchley was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of writer Robert Benchley and the father of writer Peter Benchley. He was a journalist for The New York Herald Tribune and Newsweek.
