(1918-2006)(Frank Morrison Spillane) Mickey Spillane was born in Brooklyn, New York and died in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He attended schools in Brooklyn and Elizabeth, New Jersey, and graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn in 1935. He purchased land, built a home, and wrote many of his books near Newburgh, New York. His first novel, “I, The Jury” was published in 1947. Other novels include, “The Long Wait” (1951), “The Girl Hunters” (1962), “Day of the Guns” (1964), “The Death Dealers” (1965), “The Twisted Thing” (1966), and “Body Lovers” (1967).
