(1896-1953) Writer, novelist. Marjorie Rawlings was born in Washington, District of Columbia. She worked for the Rochester Journal in the 1930s. She lived part of each year in Van Hornesville, New York, beginning in 1947. In 2008 the United States Postal Service issued its twenty-fourth stamp in the Literary Arts series in honor of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings.
