Bio

I’m the author of two poetry collections: A Secret Room in Fall, co-winner of the McGovern Prize (Ashland Poetry Press, 2006) and The Bodies We Were Loaned (The Word Works, 2002), as well as a chapbook, American Gothic, Take 2 (Finishing Line Press, 2009). My work has appeared in such magazines as Poetry, The Hudson Review, Notre Dame Review, and Ploughshares (forthcoming) and in 20 anthologies, including the popular Knopf anthology Killer Verse: Poems of Murder and Mayhem. I have read widely in New York City and State at schools, bookstores,libraries, cafes and other venues.

AWARDS AND HONORS: First Place: Elinor Benedict Prize in Poetry (Passages North); Allen Tate Memorial Award (Wind); Willow Review Award in Poetry. One of 10 writers commissioned by the Guggenheim Museum for its project,“stillspotting nyc.” Recipient of Individual Artist Initiative Award, Queens Council on the Arts and Arts and Culture Award, Italian American Labor Council.
