(1942-2021) Biographer, playwright. Joan Schenkar was born in Seattle, Washington, and died in Paris, France. She lived in both Paris, France, and in an apartment in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, New York. She was known for writing the book, “The Talented Miss Highsmith: The Secret Life and Serious Art of Patricia Highsmith.”
