He was a songwriter who wrote or collaborated on many songs including the Rolling Stones hit “Time Is On My Side” and Janis Joplin’s “Piece Of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” and “Try (Just A Little Bit Harder).” Some of his work was done under the pseudonyms Norman Margulies and Norman Meade.
