(1935-2018) Biographer. Jerry Hopkins was born in Camden, New Jersey, and died in Bangkok, Thailand. He received a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. He wrote for The Village Voice in New York and, for about 20 years, he was a writer for Rolling Stone.
