Holly Anderson has been anthologized in Up is Up, But So Is Down: New York’s Downtown Literary Scene, 1974-1992 (NYU Press) The Unbearables, The Unbearables Big Book of Sex (Autonomedia) and First Person Intense (Mudborn Press) Her limited edition books Lily Lou and Sheherezade are in library collections including MOMA, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria & Albert Museum, Brooklyn Museum, the Bennett Avant Writing Collection at Ohio State University, and The Downtown Collection at Fales Library, New York University, Harry Ransom Center University of Texas, Austin. Anderson has written lyrics and adapted her poems for the likes of indie rock pioneers Mission of Burma, Rhys Chatham, Jonathan Kane’s February, Consonant, Chris Brokaw, Lisa B. Burns & Peg Simone. She thinks a song is the perfect container for a poem: mobile, repeatable, soft or loud, in a crowd or solo, and simple to share. But she still writes for print and LCD screens. Recent work can be found at Admit2, Conduit, Ecstatic Peace Poetry Journal, Fringe, Gargoyle, la fovea, MungBeing, qarrtsiluni and Tattoo Highway. Her short story collection ‘The Night She Slept With A Bear’ with a soundtrack by Chris Brokaw published May 2012 from Publication Studio, Portland, Oregon.
