(1916-2006) Writer. Herman Klurfeld was born in the Bronx, New York in 1916 and died in Boca Raton, Florida, in 2006. Klurfeld started writing as ghostwriter for Walter Winchell in 1936 and continued writing for Winchell for nearly thirty years. He later wrote books including “Behind the Lines: The World of Drew Pearson” (1968), and “Winchell, His Life and Times” (1976).
