Bio

(1919-2019) Poet. Harriet Zinnes was born in Massachusetts and lived in New York City. She was professor emerita of English of Queens College of the CUNY, the author of eight books (which include four chapbooks). She was a contributing editor of The Denver Quarterly and of The Hollins Critic and a contributing writer of the New York Arts Magazine. Among her books are Plunge: Poems (County Wicklow, Ireland: Wild Honey Press, 2001); My, Haven’t The Flowers Been (Poems) (Magic Circle Press, l995); The Radiant Absurdity Of Desire (short stories) (Avisson Press, 1998); Lover (short stories), Coffee House Press, l988; Blood And Feathers (translations of the French poet Jacques Prevert), 1993; and Ezra Pound And The Visual Arts (New Directions, l980).
