Bio

(1817-1854) Writer, poet. Emily Chubbuck Judson was born in Eaton, New York. She worked in the New York woolen mills and received an informal education. Impressed by her desire to learn, the preceptresses at the Utica Female Seminary invited her to study for a year in their school free of cost, after which she was hired as a teacher. Much of her work was published under the pen name of Fanny Forester.
