(1933-1962) Poet. Elise Nada Cowen was born on Long Island, New York, and died in Manhattan, New York. She was a part of the Beat generation. Most of her work was destroyed by her parents at the time of her death. Some of her works are included in “Women Of The Beat Generation: Writers, Artists and Muses At The Heart Of A Revolution” edited by Brenda Knight, and in Joyce Johnson’s “Minor Characters.”
