Bio

Born in Rome, New York, Elisabeth Stevens is the author of six books of short fiction and four volumes of poetry. Her latest book is: Long Trail Winding: New & Collected Upstate Stories. A number of her books are now being distributed by Syracuse University Press and are featured in their current catalog. A graduate of Wellesley College, she holds an M. A., with High Honors in Contemporary Literature from Columbia University. As a journalist, Stevens has been art critic of The Baltimore Sun, The Wall Street Journal, The Trenton Times and The Washington and has written reviews and articles for many magazines. She has given literary readings at The Library of Congress, the 42nd Street Library in Manhattan, the John Hay Library in Providence, Rhode Island, The Writers’ Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and elsewhere, and she has been awarded fellowships from The National Endowment for the Arts, The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Ragdale and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
