Bio
Doug Paugh was born in Binghamton, NY, where he now lives with his wife, Karen and their Siberian Husky, Breaker. He served in the US Navy from 1978 to 1985, working as an SH-3H Helicopter Plane Captain and mechanic on Ground Support Equipment until 1987. He also worked for more than 30 years in the Manufacturing Industry. He was with the Big Horror Poetry Series from 1990 to 1996 and served on the Board Of Advisors for the Susquehanna School Creative Writing Circle, a program designed by Boni Gross of The Susquehanna School at South Bridge until the program ended in the late 1990’s. He has done workshops and lectures with students accepted into that program from the Binghamton School System. He won the 2000 Flash!Point Poetry Competition and the 2002 Flash!Point Chapbook Competition for Poetry with Flash!Point Press in Merrimack, New Hampshire. His poems have recently appeared in The Cannon’s Mouth Quarterly, Birmingham, UK., BLUELINE Literary Magazine, SUNY Potsdam, The Lummox Journal, The Second Word Thursdays Anthology, Images From Ruin (9/11 Anthology), and Flash!Point amoung many others. He was also a Feature in the Newsletter Inago, for April, 2003. His work has been widely published for over 25 years. He is the author of 4 Poetry Chapbooks, Beyond (1995), Rattling Cages (2004), Righting The Fire (2010), and Far Bones, also (2010). His books are available through River Read Books in Binghamton, NY., or through the author himself.
