Bio
Donna has published non-fiction, fiction, and poetry in a variety of anthologies and periodicals from Philadelphia Medicine and The Friend to The Poetry Shell and New Author Journal. Her recent non-fiction has been published in the Messenger Post newspapers and the Catholic Courier, and her poetry in The MacGuffin, Blueline, Homestead Review, Quercus Review, Sea Stories, The Red Wheel Barrow, Silk Road, The Tipton Poetry Review, Limestone, Willow Swept Review, Halfway Down The Stairs, Breadcrumb scabs, The Southern California Review, The Chaffey Review, Pearl, Hazmat Review, The Dire Elegies, A Woman’s Voice, The Language of Color, and more. Her most recent publication is Twisted Pair, a chapbook of experimental poetry (FootHills, 2010), written in collaboration with David Tilley. Donna is formerly the poetry editor of the national monthly writers’ magazine, Byline, and has also edited for FootHills publishing. She is a listed member of the writers directory of Poets & Writers. She is currently on the Advisory Board of the children’s magazine, The Magic Dragon, and regularly teaches creative writing workshops for both children and adults under the auspices of Rochester’s Writer’s & Books, ArtisanWorks, and other community organizations. She is a founder and past president of Just Poets, Inc. and former member of the planning committee for the annual poetry festival RochesterInk As a visual artist, Donna has exhibited her watercolor paintings and pastel drawings at the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester’s annual Clothesline Art Festival. She is also a member of the Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester. Formerly, she was also a member of Rochester Contemporary and of the Penfield Art Association, where she regularly exhibited in their shows. Donna has taught art to both elementary and middle school youth.
