(1954-2021) Philanthropist, author. David Swensen was born in Ames, Iowa, and died in New Haven, Connecticut. He wrote the book “Pioneering Portfolio Management: An Unconventional Approach to Institutional Investment.” Mr. Swensen worked on Wall Street in Manhattan, New York, for several years.
