Bio
(1915-2006) Art historian. Craig Hugh Smyth was born in New York, New York in 1915 and died in Englewood, New Jersey, in 2006. He had been a professor at and a director of the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, and it was there that, in 1960, he began the first academic program in conservation in the United States.
