Bio

Alamgir Hashmi, Anglophone poet, scholar, and translator, lives and works in Islamabad, Pakistan. He has been Professor of English and Comparative Literature there and previously taught in Europe and America. His poetry has been widely published in books, journals, magazines, and anthologies, in the United States and throughout the English-speaking world. His tenth volume of poetry, A Choice of Hashmi’s Verse, was published by Oxford University Press in 1997, followed by another selection published in England. A new volume of his work is due out shortly.
