(1894-1974) Journalist, author, poet. Arch Merrill was born in Sandusky, New York, and died in Rochester, New York. He wrote many articles on history and folklore of the Genesee Valley and the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. He was sometimes called the Poet Laureate of Upstate New York.
