Bio

A former actress, prolific short-story writer M. M. DeVoe has won, made finalist, or been shortlisted for the following awards: •The 1997 Raymond Carver Short Fiction Competition •PRISM: international 1999 Short Fiction Competition •Phoebe’s 2001 Short Story Contest •The Lyric’s 1990 National Poetry Contest •nowCulture.com’s 1998 Annual Poetry Contest •H. De Voe has had short fiction published in several journals including America, Bee Museum: The Journal of Baltic Writers in English, Bellevue Literary Review, Green Mountains Review, Jerry Magazine, Ladyfinger, Literal Latte, Lithuanian Heritage Magazine, Mississippi Review, New Millenium Writings, New York, Prism International, Slant, Sojourn, The First Line, The Lyric, THEMA, and The Oklahoma Review. De Voe holds an MFA from Columbia University in Fiction, is Associate Editor and Director of Online Workshops for Our Stories Literary Journal, and is the founder and executive director of the Pen Parentis Literary Salons in lower Manhattan, where she lives with her husband, her children and a small collection of novels-in-progress.
