Bio

ELENA ALEXANDER is a writer and poet. Ms. Alexander’s book, Footnotes: Six Choreographers Inscribe the Page, published by Gordon + Breach, will have a reading/performance at The Kitchen on Tuesday, October 20, 1998, at 8 PM. Her work has appeared in the following anthologies: Aloud: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Café (Henry Holt & Co.), Brought to Book (Penguin), Seeing in the Dark (Serpent’s Tail), and in several issues of Bomb and LUNGFULL She collaborated with the photographer Denise Adler on Parallel Spell: 7 Pictures/7Poems as well as with the visual artist, Alan Uglow, on Hotel Series. Ms. Alexander is currently working on Reflex Arc, an extended work of fiction and nonfiction. She has read at, among other places, St. Mark’s Poetry Project, the Nuyorican Poets Café (“Spotlight”: featured reader), The New Museum (Soho Arts Festival), Jackie 60, and on radio station, WBAI. Ms. Alexander is founder and director of the MAD ALEX ARTS FOUNDATION, INC.
