General Information

Bio

CARLA T. SMITH assumed her duties at the Woodstock Guild on August 1, 1997. Prior to that she served as an Arts Consultant, specializing in long-range planning, board development, and fund raising. Mrs. Smith’s career began at the New York State Council on the Arts in the early 1970s, giving money away. A fund raiser at heart, Carla also spent eight years as Development Director for two theaters, a craft museum, and a symphony. From 1979-89 she served as the general manager (Executive Director) of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, based in Poughkeepsie. Her passions include Egyptian archaeology, the theater, museums, hiking, and reading. She no longer plays her clarinet and appears to be a slave to her cat, Buddy.
