Bio
(1905-2006) Poet. Stanley Kunitz was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and died in New York City. He was Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1974 to 1976 and Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 2000 to 2001. He was the New York State Poet Laureate from 1987 to 1989. He taught at many colleges and universities including Columbia University in Manhattan, New York. His first collection of poems, “Intellectual Things,” was published in 1930 and was followed by several more collections.
