Bio

Philip Memmer is a widely published poet, and Executive Director of The YMCA’s Downtown Writer’s Center in Syracuse. His poems have appeared in journals such as Poetry, Mid-American Review, Southern Poetry Review, and Poetry Northwest, and in several anthologies, including 180 More: Extraordinary Poems for Every Day and Don’t Leave Hungry: Fifty Years of Southern Poetry Review. He is the author of three books of poems, including Lucifer: A Hagiography (Lost Horse Press, 2009), winner of the 2008 Idaho Prize for Poetry, and Threat of Pleasure (Word Press, 2008), winner of the 2008 Adirondack Literary Award for Poetry. His is also the author of three chapbooks of poems.
