Bio

(1946-1988) Playwright. Born in Puerto Rico. His play, “Short Eyes” (1974) won NY Drama Critics’ Circle Award and Obis Award for best off-Broadway play of 1973-74. Co-edited “Nuyorican Poetry” (1975). In 1980, he published his own collection, “La Bodega Sold Dreams” (1980). He committed suicide in 1988.
