Description

The New York Public Library, 5th Avenue at 42nd Street, was built in 1911. Its collections include almost 50 million items, including almost 18 million books as well as original manuscripts by many writers. The NYPL hosts many readings and other literary events. Marianne Moore worked there as assistant librarian from 1921-1925.
